Woo-Hoo! We did it…my little dog Mary and I finished our first 5K together. And I really mean that I was attached to her for the whole show. How horrible is that to have to stop and wait for your dog to go…well you know.
Any how…this is us.
Next 5K…this Saturday. Without the dog! oops I think she heard that.
In unrelated news, you can see that we have been busy working on our yard this year…The big guy is getting us ready to have a side yard parking area (to be read as weed free junk lot).
And all with just his cousins help… they hauled out 5 semi loads of junk and weeds. Too bad some of the rest of the junk didn’t go as well.
Just a little update about my walking.
I have another 5k comming up just around the corner. October 3 actually…this one is the Dog run dog, and you guessed it from the name i will be taking the little old dog with me.
I promise I will be back to more regular posts when I find some time just laying on the side of the road (pun intended). In the mean time I miss you all and hope everything is going great for ya!
I was so excited with myself yesterday that I thought I would do a bit of bragging today.
I finished my first official 5k race…not in any record time, but I finished. That was my goal. But I think my friends have set me on some strange path. While on the car ride home, while we were all still stinky with sweat and starting to feel the longing from our beds (we got up for the race about 5 am) we started to make plans for our next race…and I set a goal to cut down my time. We’ll see about that…but I think I have found something to really shoot for.
So if you don’t remember the movie The Sound of Music this is not that funny…
But if you do remember…just imagine me running down the hill singing!
This is how I spent my Sunday afternoon this last weekend. Touring the local countryside. I had to ditch my walking stick soon after finding it thought, it was a bit much to pack…who would have thought?
We took this photo about 7 miles south (as the bird flies) from my house, but it was about a 2 hour drive in, up crazy twisted rocky roads, from about 6500 feet above sea level to 9500. But boy oh boy…the views were breath taking! This is why I love Utah.

We didn’t do a whole lot around this house…a movie during the hot part of the day and just a little bbq with our family and a whole lot of being lazy. I was a little ashamed of myself in fact, I forgot to put out my flag. But I did make a show of my patriotism with a cake 
And I even painted my toes with a little spirit…ewww…my piggys look like they needs a real pedicure!
Of all the things with writing, organization, in my mind, is by far the hardest thing. So you will see why I have become slightly intrigued by this software.
I am curious to find out more about it…as I found a little ad the other day at Dear Author. If I would have just been a little faster at going threw my google reader I would have found it at half price.
